Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (formerly Aurangabad) has been functioning since 1983 with financial assistance from ICAR, New Delhi, under the administrative control of Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth, Parbhani.
KVK operates as a district level farm science centre with mandates including technology assessment and demonstration, capacity development of farmers and extension personnel, functioning as a knowledge and resource centre, providing farm advisories using ICT, producing quality technological products (seed, planting material, livestock strains), organising frontline extension activities, documenting farm innovations, and ensuring convergence with ongoing schemes.
The vision of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) is to use science and technology to enhance the productivity, profitability, and sustainability of agriculture through a farmer‑centric approach, applying appropriate technologies in specific agro‑ecosystems to improve the social and economic well‑being of the farming community.
