The Brief Information

Regional Agriculture Extension Education centre Latur has been established in the year of 1981 under Training and Visit scheme with an objective to render the services and disseminate the technologies generated in Agriculture Universities to the farmers in Latur and Nanded district This centre has to perform the duties regarding conduct of monthly district workshop, Preparation of messages, Visit to problematic fields of the farmers and conduct of farm trials / crop demonstrations on farmers field, Similarly the Scientists of this centre have to attend and deliver talks in the farmers rallies and training programmes arranged by state departments of Agriculture as well as other agencies in the district. The scientist of this centre are also engaged in survey and surveillance regarding pest and diseases of crops, field visits as well as sale of University Publications / Products.

The Programme of Krishi vahini has been started at this centre since Oct. – 2022 and in this programme the technical information with the help of mobile helpline in being provided to the needy farmers of this region.
